From all corners of our district and country, I am energized by a refreshing commitment to a new direction for America. It is an honor to have this opportunity to work on your behalf.

These are challenging times, I know. So much is at stake for our communities and for our nation. After years of greed, abuse and neglect, our economy has suffered a perilous blow at the hands of some of the most well-heeled bandits while much of Washington sat idly by. A crucial fight for economic justice in our country is underway: you can be sure I will be right there, fighting for you.

It is time to reform our nation's financial regulatory system, achieve real energy and economic independence, and institute a sound trade policy that ends the job-killing trade agreements of the past.

Thank you for standing by my side to secure good paying jobs here at home, protect Social Security and Medicare for our seniors, ensure affordable education for our children and to forge a health care system that works for all.

Much work lies ahead. Together, I know we will continue to make a difference in the lives of so many.
