The Toledo Blade today endorsed Marcy for re-election, citing her "solid" record of "effective, principled representation."
The Blade editorial noted that "Representative Kaptur has amassed valuable seniority and influence on Capitol Hill" and credited not only her pragmatic approach but also her contribution to saving thousands of auto industry jobs during the recent economic crisis.
Flying down the campaign homestretch, Congresswoman Kaptur covered the entire length of the Ninth District—and then some—with an event-filled day that started in Toledo and ended with an appearance in Cleveland with President Obama.
Congresswoman Kaptur this evening received the endorsement of The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer, the state's largest newspaper, which cited her "...impressive record of getting things done."
"Kaptur's enormous margin among voters she has served for decades -- she got a mind-boggling 94 percent of the Democratic vote in Lucas County (in the primary) -- was testimony to how effective this unassuming, unpretentious woman has been on Capitol Hill," wrote the Plain Dealer editorial board.
